JOHNSON, Edith Mary JOHNSON, Edith Mary - Hants Border. Born May 23, 1939, in Hants Border to the late Foster and Mona (Shaw) King, and residing in Hants Border, she passed away on November 2, 2005, in the Palliative Care Unit of Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. She was a school teacher in both Hants and Kings Counties, retiring in 1994. She was active in her church, where she was UCW President, Sunday school teacher, session member, Junior Choir Leader, CGIT and Explorer Leader. She was a member of the Hants Border Community Club and Mount Denson Garden Club. She is survived by husband, Angus Johnson; daughter, Mary Ann (Tom) Singleton, Hants Border; sons, Jamie (Barbara) Swindells, Ben Jackson Road; Kirk (Catherine) Johnson, Hants Border; Lucas (Kathy) Johnson, Canmore, Alta.; stepdaughter, Bobbi-Ruth (Eddie) Kruger, Halifax; grandchildren, Justin and Sean Swindells, Cassandra, Thomas, and Samantha Singleton, Julia and Luna Johnson, Foster Johnson, Matthew, Destiny, Sadie, and Faith Kruger; sisters, Beulah (Percy) McNulty, Steeves Mountain, N.B.; Judy (Rick Campbell) Swinamer, Hants Border; Elaine (Stan Wilson) Munroe, Gaspereau River Road; brothers, Garnet (Kathy) King, Hants Border; Morris (Barbara) King, Hantsport, as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edith's memory may be made to St. James United Church, Hantsport, or the Canadian Cancer Society, Nova Scotia Division for Brain Tumor Research, 5824 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6. Friends are invited to share memories of Edith today from 7-9 p.m. at her home at 195 Charles Tracey Rd., Hants Border. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, Hantsport, with Rev. Glennis Smith officiating. Reception to follow in the church.
