Obituary of Evelyn "Jean" Salsman

E. Jean Salsman 84 of Evergreen Home for Special Care – formerly of Somerset/Berwick, passed away peacefully June 6,2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Avondale, she was the daughter of Charles Ellsworth Sanford of Lower Burlington Hants Co. and Mable Elsie Connors of Newport, Hants Co. Jean will always be remembered as a great cook and housekeeper, a devoted wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Robert Salsman, sons, Stephen (Sue) Salsman, Woodville, Rick (Wendy) Salsman, Coldbrook, Robert (Kim) Salsman. North Alton and daughter Darlene (Dale) Murphy, Somerset: sisters: June, Joan, Marilyn, Marina, Sharon and sister-in-law Doris Sanford, grandchildren: Christopher Salsman (Karina), Jonathan Salsman (Laura), Daniel Salsman (Jess) Kentville, Scott Salsman Calgary; Tristan Mosher (Jessica), Gagetown; Kalen and Camden Salsman, North Alton; 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Stanley and Lester Sanford, sister Hazel Elliott, sister Marie Demont; several brothers-in law, grandson Nathan Mosher.

Following the service everyone is welcome to attend a reception at Darlene’s home:  507 Pleasant Valley Road, Somerset.

There is no visitation by family request. A private interment for family and close friends will take place Monday June 10th at 2 pm at the Berwick Cemetery. Pastor Chris Wickes officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
