Obituary of Susan April Baxter

Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness the family of Susan April (Beattie) Baxter, 61, of Coldbrook, Nova Scotia, announce her passing on June 20, 2019, at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.

Susan was the daughter of the late H. Frederick and Anita Beattie of Welsford. She was born April 19,1959 in Chatham, New Brunswick. Susan attended Central Kings High School, was a member of 4H and loved all animals unconditionally.

Susan touched many people’s lives personally but also through the work that she did in Home Care. She was passionate about helping people and made a loving and memorable impact on the people’s lives that she helped and touched.

Susan was a quiet and private person who faced her illness as she faced her life with a sense of humour and her positive attitude. Her legacy will live on in her cherished daughters, Sasha and Shannon and her grandson, Liam who truly was the light of her life.

Susan is survived by her daughters Shannon (Anthony) Bond, Calgary, Alberta and Sasha (Aubrey) Folks, Casey Corner, Nova Scotia. Sisters Irma Dunnett, Miramachi, New Brunswick, Nancy (Brian) Landry, Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Anne (Lindsay) Nauss, Aylesford, Nova Scotia and brother Robert (Lizz) Beattie, Truro, Nova Scotia.

Beside her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Gary Dunnett.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Andrew, for his friendship and compassion for Susan. They would also like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Valley Regional Hospital and to everyone who offered prayers, called, sent messages and visited throughout her journey.

In honour of Susan’s wishes a private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
