Obituary of June Estelle Porter

June Estelle Porter, 88 of Canning  passed away on July 3, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital.  Born in Upper Canard, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha (Coldwell) Eaton.

June was a hard-working woman and life as an adult was not easy, but she always had fond memories of her younger years. She loved the outdoors and her heart belonged to the care of the Lord.  It was June’s nature to give help to anyone that was in need.

She will be missed by her son, Edward Hickey of Canning; and her dear friends Gladys Martian of Sheffield Mills and Mona Reagan of Port Williams.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Eric Porter; daughter Gwendolyn Hickey; sons Gordon and Blaine; and sister Bertha Wood.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm; both will be held in the first Cornwallis Baptist Church, Canard. Memorial donations may be made to the First Cornwallis Baptist Church.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
