I didn't know Jack that well but I did spend a few occasions with him where we talked for several hours about his life and about the resistance. I found his stories both amazing and heartbreaking. In the short term that I knew him, I thought he was a very sweet man who loved laying in his bed looking out over the Bay and watching the sun go up and down each day. He sometimes felt bad about himself but I told him that he should be proud of what he has done with is life and that it was an honor to meet him and hear his stories. He talked about a memoir he had written and how he wish it could be published for him. Despite the sad and scary moments in life, he did have great pride and that is something that he certainly should have - great pride. His art in his home was beautiful. I wish I had had the opportunity to get to know him more and I only saw today that he had passed away. I would like to give my condolences to all of the family.
