Obituary of Phyllis Marie Moorehouse

Phyllis Marie Potter, Hearn, Moorehouse, 92 of Berwick, NS  passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, NS. Born May 12, 1927 in Upper Clements, NS.  She was the youngest daughter of the late Fred C. and Florence (Orde) Potter.

She was a hard worker, having worked numerous jobs before her 20 years at Eaton’s Drugstore in Middleton, NS.  She was always a gracious hostess, loved music and dancing.  She had numerous friends, both at Orchard View Apartments and beyond that she cherished.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter Donna Hearn of New Brunswick; grandsons Nathan Baker of Ontario and Phillip (Tabitha) Baker of New Brunswick; great-granddaughter Ava; great-grandson Maverick; step-daughter Janet Lussier; step-granddaughters Julia (George) Dollard, Kate (Colin) Purdy, Jody Lussier; step-great-grandsons Jason, Andrew, Ryan, Douglas, Rupert and Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Gardiner; her second husband John “Jack” Moorehouse (2017); brother Clyde (2009); sisters Doris Harry (2012); Evelyn Ross (2015); nephews Gary Potter; Gordon Ross (2014) and great-nephew Philip Stairs (2001).

The family would like to thank the staff at Orchard View Apartments, nurses and doctors at both Valley Regional Hospital and Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, for all their care of Phyllis during her final journey.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service as per her wishes.  Memorial donation may be made to Kingston United Church, Kingston Firehall, Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or local Food Bank.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
