Obituary of Lloyd Walter Crawford

Lloyd Walter Crawford, 73 of Chezzetcook, passed away peacefully at Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital in Musquodoboit on September 16, 2019. Son of the late George and Janet (Meisner) Crawford.

He started working at the Halifax County Hospital at the age of 17, he then transitioned to construction and woodworking with McCurdy Brothers Construction and finished his working career and retired from Sable Warehouse, Burnside in 2010. Lloyd was always there to offer a helping hand. He was a Scouts Canada Leader, volunteer at the Saint Barnabas Church and a retired member of the Chezzetcook Fire Department. His favorite pastime and relaxation were when he was mowing with his ride-on lawn tractor.

To honor and carry on Lloyd's life and memories are his loving and caring wife Jeanne of 43 years; their children Tammy (Jim), Timmy (Karalee) Bridgewater, Danny (Susan), Craig, Alberta and Tracy (Dave) Dartmouth. His grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally Tim, Chelsea, Alexander, Kristina, Bailey, Danielle, Cale, Matthew and Sofia. Also survived by his siblings Georgina, Terry and Weldon and their dog Sonny.

Besides his parent, Lloyd was predeceased by his brothers Clyde, Donald, Roger and sisters Joan and Diann.

Special thanks to his long-time friend Murray Conrod, the Staff of the Hematology Department at the VG and the staff of Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital.

Cremation has already taken place.  A Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Saint Barnabas Church in Head Chezzetcook. There will be a reception to follow the service in the church hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or an organization of your choice.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
