Obituary of Orville Murray Levy

Orville Murray Levy, 87 formerly of Black River  passed away on October 8, 2019 in Grand View Manor.  Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late Wesley and Roxie (Hiltz) Levy.

Raised in Black River, Orville was a man of great faith and held his beliefs dearly.  He was a loyal fan, since 1942, of the Toronto Maple leafs.  He worked at various farms thoughout the valley area, picking many apples during his life time, and in one of the years he was able to pick 670 bins.  This was an impressive amount.  He also worked for Nova Scotia Power, Department of Highways, Ken-Wo Golf Course and Acadia Dining Hall.

He is survived by his sister Hope, New Minas; sons Paul (Sherry) and Brooks (Karen); daughter Tanya (Blair); grandchildren Selena, Jason, Cory, Rebecca, Alyssa (Daisuke), Brendan, Amanda and Sarah; great-grandchildren Madeline, Leland, Cash, Jayden, Kohen, Piper, Alina, Ava and Kynlie.

Besides his parents, Orville was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Edith; brothers Mervin and Mike.

A special thank you to the nursing and staff at the Grand View Manor for their compassion and care while Orville was a resident.

A visitation will take place on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Gaspereau United Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) or a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E5 (902-542-4656).
