We have just learned of Peggy death today. She was a wonderful inspiration to action and ... when we knew her, at least ... a quiet yet forceful and effective proponent of the need for progressive change for the betterment of all. Altruism is a word that comes to mind when thinking of Peggy. Her view was global but her most visible impacts were in a variety of concerns locally. In Dietrich Bonhoeffer's words: "she was a woman for others." May her spirit continue to motivate us all from lethargy and self-satisfaction to participation and vision.

I have plenty of good memories of Peggy. And I still have her recipe for granola. It reads, "Peggy Hope-Simpson's Granola" in my "book" of recipes copied out on any scrap at hand. Peggy and David made a big impression for the good on my young life. I am so grateful I knew them as neighbours and in the Wolfville Friends Meeting .

I'm not sure that my previous attempt to send condolences was successful.
I just wanted to say that the world has lost one of it's best. Deepest sympathy.

Peggy was very involved with the NS Environmental Network. I always enjoyed seeing her at our meetings and gatherings. When personal dynamics created conflicts, she did her best to reframe things and bring us back together again. Deep respect

Dear "Peggy's Family"
My brother and I were talking about your Mom and Dad just the other day. I knew Peggy through Community Planning Associaton, Voice of Women for Peace and the NDP. You Dad taught my brother at SMU. Both such kind, gentle, caring and strong people. Thank you for sharing them with us for so many years.
Peace, Love & Solidarity

Dear Family & Friends of Peggy,
I only met Peggy a few brief times in the late 70's/early 80's when she was probably a member of the Community Planning Association/Nova Scotia Division Board of Directors. I remember her energy and strength; calmness and determination, which shows in her eyes in the photos above.
97 is a great milestone and I wish you ease as you let go and cherish the many memories of your time together on this earth plane.
Love Light Peace,
Theresa

Prayers and Condolences to the family. I did not know her but am grateful to be part of the legacy she left behind, Voice of Women for Peace. I’m honoured to be part of an organization that has had phenomenal women like Peggy Hope-Simpson and Muriel Duckworth and can only hope that we can uphold and build on their vision. Rest In Peace

Peggy was an inspiration in so many ways. Her lifelong dedication to making her community, and the world, a better place
would put most of us to shame. She was always pleasant, serene, and had a great sense of humour. My sympathy to all who were close to her.

My Condolences to Peggys family,
The bittersweet loss of a wonderful mother, leader and friend. It is hard to lose a truly GOOD person. She will be missed. I was very peripheral to your family and to Peggys life. She was fond of my late husband Somananda/James King. Whenever we saw Peggy she was always bright, cheerful, friendly and curious, generous, kind and loving. She was a role model in so many ways and ushered in some very fine offspring. Salutations and gratitudes to you Peggy. Go well! and my heart goes out to your family.
warmly,
Cheendana

Dear Family of Peggy,
I was so sorry to hear of Peggy's death. But what a wonderful long life, and how much she gave to so many! I so enjoyed my visits to her in her home before she left for Evergreen, and her mind and sympathies were as sharp as ever. My friend and partner Colin, who died 7 years ago, also loved Peggy very much
All my love and sympathies to you all.
