Geraldine Harmon Dempsey, 92, Berwick  passed away, surrounded by her loving family in the Grand View Manor on Friday, November 22, 2019. Born in New Ross, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ida (Redden) Leopold.

Geraldine moved to the Valley at a young age and worked at the Cornwallis Inn in Kentville.  She worked housekeeping in several other establishments, which included Kings County Rehabilitation Centre, she picked apples and loved picking berries.  Geraldine enjoyed making quilts, her time spent in her flower gardens and adored the visits from her grandchildren. She treasured her time camping and fishing with her husband or her sisters.

She is survived by daughters Barbara Lutz, Canning; Carolyn (Gary) Lonergan, Morden; Hilda (Joe) Dempsey, Cambridge; Faye Toole, Aylesford; sons Garth (Bernice), Morden; Michael (Barb), Auburn; Allen (Cathy), Aylesford; brother Fred, Parsbarro; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her loving husband Lorenzo; son Kevin; sisters Ida and Audrey; and brother James.

A Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm, both will be held in the Berwick Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place in the St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Auburn. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
