Obituary of Deborah Leslie Rowlings

Deborah “Debi” Rowlings (Mackenzie/Walker), 70 of Sackville, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at the QE2 on December 25th, 2019. Debi was born April 21, 1949 in Eastern Passage of the late Isabel and Ken MacKenzie.

Debi raised her family in Lower Sackville where she was a very active member of the community involved in Winter Carnival, St. Francis By the Lakes Anglican Church, hairstyling and countless other ways. Debi was always a very glamorous, stylish lady full of energy and life continuously opening her home and heart to welcome and entertain family and friends making everything just right. She was very creative in quilting, sewing, painting, baking and home décor generously passing on her talents and gifts to others. Nothing meant more to her than family.

Together with her soulmate of 25 years, Arthur Rowlings, Debi`s truest passion and biggest joy was to be a Gramma to her 9 grandchildren and was the very best.

She is survived by her loving husband Arthur; her children Danny Walker (Ashley Redden) and Nicole Walker (Stephen Probert); brothers Harold” Skip” MacKenzie, Stewart (Jane) MacKenzie and Michael (Kelli) MacKenzie; grandchildren MacKenzie, Ashley, Dylen, Charley, Jonathen, Jayelle, Charlize, Gracee, April and great-grandson Aidan; step-children Scott (Joelle) Rowlings and Cyndi (Jamie) Cave; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family members.

She is predeceased by her parents, brother Howard MacKenzie, and her beloved furry companion Fancy.

Heaven just got a lot more glamorous with this new Christmas Angel.

A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday January 3, 2020 at 11:00 am in the St. Francis By the Lakes Anglican Church at 192 First Lake Drive followed by reception. Memorial donations may be made to either St. Francis By the Lakes Anglican Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
