Obituary of Dorothy Grace Estelle Prime

Dorothy “Dot” Grace Estelle Prime, 91 of Digby  passed away January 17, 2020 in the Tideview Terrace.  Born March 25, 1928 in Springdale, Digby County; she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Amy Dalton.

Dot came to Digby in 1942, living with her sister, Anna Barr after a long illness. She went on to work for Carpenter Restaurant and Snack Bar as a waitress, National Sea Products, Wrights Clothing & China Dept., and May’s Stationary.  Later on, Dot and her husband, Wayne purchased May’s Stationary and for the next 18 years ran it together.  In 1974, Dot and Wayne married, sold the business, moved to Ashmore and spent the next 38 years running the Ashmore Fruit and Vegetable and Convenience Store.  After spending time in Ashmore, they decided to sell the house and store, moving back to Digby to enjoy retirement.

Dot is survived by her loving husband Wayne Prime, Digby; daughter Sandra (Bobby) Pettipas, Deep Brook; sister Amy Thompson, Yarmouth; grandchildren Blair (Cindy) Haight, Hillgrove; Mike (Kendra) Haight, Hillgrove; Linda (Shane) White, Barton; Michelle (Kevin) Wight, Annapolis County; Robert (Cindy) Pettipas, Deep Brook; great-grandchildren Brody, Bradly, Brittany, all of Barton; Emma, Amy, Abby, Olivia, Colby, all of Hillgrove; Keshia (Jacob) Hawkins, Halifax; Dylan Pettipas, Deep Brook; great great-granddaughters Allison Marie and Lauren Mae Hawkins.

Besides her parents, Dot was predeceased by her daughter Faye Haight Wagner; granddaughter Erica Pettipas; sisters Anna Barr and Esther Budd; brothers Reginald, Vernon, Ernie, Edward, William, Lawrence, and three brothers in infancy.

Cremation has taken place and by request there will be no service.  Burial will take place at a later date. No flowers by request of famliy and in lieu of, memorial donations may be made to Tideview Terrace, Digby or charity of choice. Please leave a condolence online or by calling Wayne at 902-247-1498.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
