Obituary of Madeline Patricia Schofield

Madeline Patricia Schofield, 86 of Lockhartville, passed away on February 9, 2020 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.  She was the daughter of the late Jack Ethridge and Alice Greenlund.

Madeline was a member of the Stoneyhill Baptist Church in Lockhartville, where she was a part of the choir for many years.  She worked at the Canadian Keyes Fibre in Hantsport for over 30 years. Madeline loved playing bingo, bowling, knitting, crocheting and baking.  She was devoted to her family and friends, and was known as “Nan” to many.  She treasured many parties with her Birthday Girls and the shopping trips to the States.

She is survived by her loving husband Carleton; children Denise (Bruce) and Dennis (Marion); grandchildren Shawna (Steven), Jarrod (Kristi), Tyler (Erin), Shawn (Courtney), Chad (Amanda), Mitchell (Shannon), Kyle (Ashley) and Jeremy (Melissa); 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sister Elizabeth Cottenden; and her beloved dog, Duke.

Besides her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her brothers Russell and Harry; sisters Winnifred, Florence, Harriett and Bernice; and her dog, Honey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Hants Border Hall, Hants Border, NS. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
