Obituary of Karl Graham Jollymore

Please share a memory of Karl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Karl Graham Jollymore, 83 of New Ross.  It is with deep sadness that we announce his peaceful passing on February 15, 2020 in Shoreham Village, Palliative Care Unit, while listening to “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” and “Old Strawberry Roan” played on the harmonica by his son, Clifford.  He was born May 5, 1936, to the late Franklyn and Idella (Leopold) Jollymore of Mill Road and lived his entire life there.

His greatest passion in life was his family.  Karl, along with his wife, Phyllis (Levy) spent 53 wonderful years together, working side by side, hunting, trapping, fishing or just roaming the woods.  He started working in the woods at the early age of 14 years.  Karl also worked picking tobacco, and at Body & Fender.  He kept all things mechanical repaired around his home and shop, always sharing his knowledge with those who listened.

Karl is survived by his loving wife Phyllis (Levy), New Ross; children Laura (Mike Hall) Jollymore; K. Clifford (Tammie Cook) Jollymore; Jonathan Jollymore, all of New Ross; grandchildren Courtney (Scott) Hughes, Windsor; Landon and Mattea Jollymore-Hall; Faith, Brandon and Parker Jollymore, all of New Ross; great-grandchildren Wilder and Theda Hughes, Windsor; brother Foster (Jeanie) Jollymore; sister Reta Meister, Mill Road, New Ross.

Besides his parents, Karl was predeceased by sisters Ruth Lake, Thelma Kaiser, Daisy Pye and Olive Thibault; brothers Basil and Lindsey Jollymore.

The family wishes to thank the Home Care Workers and all of Karl’s caregivers at Shoreham for their care, support, love and compassion.  They went above and beyond during his short stay, enabling us to give him our love and say our goodbyes.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or service by family request. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
