Obituary of Brenda Marianne Charlotte Shone

Brenda Marianne Charlotte Shone, 79 of Berwick, NS/Sarnia, ON, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21,2020 in the Grand View Manor. Born on November 10, 1940 in London, England; she was the daughter of the late Jack and Sadie (McGovern) Kearns.

She married the love of her life, Colin Thomas Shone on February 3, 1962 at the St. Bede’s Catholic Church, Clapman Park, England. In August 1973, Brenda and Colin moved to Canada. A year after settling in Sarnia, ON, Brenda became employed for Imperial Oil Sarnia Office until she retired July 2001.

She was such a kind-hearted, loyal person and had the utmost beautiful smile, twinkle in her eyes and quick to laugh.

Brenda was a proud but private person, hard-working and fiercely protective of her family.  She travelled the world, truly enjoyed dancing, enjoyed sewing, and went to great lengths for family gatherings

She was the most loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling and friend.

Brenda is survived by her children Tina (Greg) Henderson of Berwick; Bruce Shone of Toronto, ON; and Graham (Mel) Shone of Kettle Point, ON; grandchildren Johnathon, Alex, Matthew, Charlotte, Christian, Patrick, Aaron, Katherine and Abigail; great-grandchildren Deacon, Jaden, Sadie and Remmington; siblings Jack (Deidre) Kearns of Burlington, ON and Jacqueline (Colin) Watts of Milton, ON; and beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her darling husband Colin Shone of Sarnia, ON in 2013.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at Grand View Manor, who took such good care of Brenda.  Your kindness and love went above and beyond.

A private family service will be held at a later date in Sarnia, ON, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Colin. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society (Sarnia-Lambton) .  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
