Bronwen “Bonnie” Joy Houghton, 65 of Hantsport passed away on July 7, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness and with her family by her side. Born in Baxter’s Harbour she was the daughter of Gerald and the late Roselee (Woodworth) Sanford.

Bonnie was born and raised in Baxter’s Harbour. Bonnie loved the ocean and grew up fishing. When she was able, she loved to go to bingo and have coffee with her friends, who she cherished. She loved her family and her two little dogs Tippy and Maggie.

Besides her father Gerald Sanford, Bonnie is survived by her loving spouse Arnold Pinch; sons Mark and Russell (Deana) Houghton; daughters Tammy and Cindy Houghton, the children’s father Russell Houghton; step-daughter Michelle (Colin) Kelly; grandchildren Timothy Thomson, Kayla Bronwen Houghton, MaryCatherine Harrington, Ty Russell William Harrington, Breanna Houghton, Brook Houghton, Lexus Houghton and Izabella Houghton; step-grandchildren Rachel Lightfoot, Kori Lightfoot, Ava Kelly, Lexi Kelly and Norah Kelly; great grand children, Mia Strickland/Houghton, Octavia Brown/Houghton, William Doucette/Harrington and Dominic Langel/Harrington; sisters Susan Pelton, Kimberly (Muise) Sanford and Lucy Sanford; brothers Burnell Sanford, Danny Sanford, Gerald Sanford Jr., and Zane Sanford and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Along with Bonnie’s mother, she was predeceased by her grandparents, Roland and Lucy Woodworth, Victor and Maggie Sanford; grandsons Roland Craig Houghton and Keaghan William Houghton/Bell; and brother Michael Sanford.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation or service at this time, however, a celebration of life may be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Family First Medical. Family first Medical have been very caring and supportive to Bonnie over the last years of her life. We would also like to thank Dr. Clark and her Nurses at Valley Regional, for their immense care and support during Bonnie’s stays in the hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
