Obituary of Gerald Edmond Foote

Gerald Edmond Foote, 88 of Cambridge passed away peacefully on July 17, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital after a two year battle with dementia.  Born in Glenmont, Kings County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mildred (Balsor) Foote.

Gerald led a career as a truck driver and grain handler. He truly enjoyed racoon and rabbit hunting with his blue tick dog and a beagle dog. Gerald was also a devote member of the Pentecostal Church in Kentville.

He was of a quiet but sincere personality and steadfast to his wife Eileen for the 55 years they knew each other. Gerald will be greatly missed by everyone and Eileen will always be blessed she met him and had their time together.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Eileen (Meisner / Gates); step-children Pamela (Guy) Roy and Raymond Gates; step-grandchildren Jodie Steward, Jeremy Roy, Joelle (Bill) Lister, Ethan Roy, Raymond N. Gates and Jordan (Magin) Banerjeel; step-great grandchildren Chase Steward, Eli Lister, Emmett Lister, Eddison Lister and Eliose Lister; brother Ray Foote; and sister Ruth (Jim) Evans.

Besides his parents, Gerald was predeceased by brother Murray; sisters Olive and Carrie.

There will be no service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
