Nate and I were very close/dated. My first favourite memory was heading out to his buddy’s place to shoot some guns. He couldn’t get over 5’ nothing me handling a 30 odd 6 - it wasn’t my first rodeo I told him! He used to stay with me at my apartment on his days off from camp work and he would always make me laugh and play with my Boston Terrier, Halo. To this day I can still hear him laughing and and see him playing with her, calling her “Old Girl” in his deep voice, but the way you’d talk to a baby -instead of “coochie coo” it was “Halo Girl, my old girl” as he’d pretend he was going to catch her stubby tail. “My old girl” stuck- I still have her and still call her that. It makes me think of him and I smile every time. I have lots of good memories. I sure do miss him.
