Obituary of Michelle Christine McDow

Please share a memory of Michelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The family of Michelle Christine McDow, 47 of Chester, are heartbroken to share that she lost her valiant battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, September 25, 2020.

This day was her Grampy Bremner’s birthday so we are sure he was waiting for her to join him in heaven to celebrate.

Michelle was a caregiver, always thought of others and had a most kind, generous heart.  Michelle had many struggles in life but she persevered.  During her two-year battle with cancer, she found peace in private thoughts of God and she kept a positive attitude to the end.

Michelle is survived by the love and light of her life, her beautiful daughter, Kaylee Joanne (Chicken Little).  There was nothing more important to Michelle than to make sure Kaylee knew how much she loved her.  Also left to mourn are Michelle’s mother Joanne (Bremner) McDow; Father Larry McDow and step-mother Joyce; sisters Terri-Lynn (Richard Canning) McDow,; Melissa (Bruce) Hiltz; nieces Melanie Levy and Elizabeth Burgess; nephew Dale Burgess; 2 great-nephews and 1 great-niece; step-sister Natasha (Chris) Nauss; grandmother Roxie Bremner; grandfather Cecil Swinimer; and many Aunts & Uncles and friends. Michelle is also survived by the best friend and supporter she could have asked for in Brian Leopold.  Brian has been a great friend to Michelle for many years and was there for her and Kaylee throughout her illness and to the end.  Special thanks to friend Melody Weagle for being so caring and supportive to Michelle throughout some very difficult times.

Michelle was predeceased by her beautiful son Ethan, as well as the father of her children, David Turple; also gone before are her grandparents Maurice and Carol McDow, Nanny Ida Swinimer, and Grampy Wesley Bremner.

A visitation will take place on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 6pm – 8:00pm in the New Ross Funeral Home.  A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Christ Anglican Cemetery, New Ross.  Memorial donations may be made to PRO Kids Chester or Charity of choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
