Greta Elizabeth Lutz Baltzer, 98 of Berwick, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2020. Born March 30, 1922, she was the eldest of nine children of the late Clyde Nelson Lutz and Ruby May Porter Lutz, of Aylesford Mountain.

She gained her early education in the Aylesford Mtn. School, No. 101. She graduated grade XII from Wolfville High. Greta was also a graduate of Yarmouth Hospital with affiliations from St. John Tuberculosis, NB; Royal Victoria Maternity, Montreal; and Alexandra Contagious Disease, Verdun, QC. She worked at Western Kings Memorial Hospital for 32 years, retiring as Head Nurse of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Greta developed a special bond with her grandson, Christopher, sharing stories and creating life long memories. She was always active and loved to knit, crochet and quilt beautiful handmade crafts.

When Greta was 90, she received several first-place prizes for her handicrafts.

After Vinton passed, she volunteered for nine years at the Grand View Manor and then moved to Orchard View in 2013. She continued to express her creativity through her crafts, creating one-of-a-kind items with love and care. This hobby brought her joy and allowed Greta to remain active.

Greta leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Elaine Baltzer and V. Marshall (Bonnie) Baltzer; siblings Albert and Junior Lutz, Valreta Langille; grandchildren Christopher Burgart and Jennifer Leavitt, Kelly (Hector)Fraser and Corey Baltzer; great-grandchildren Rebecca and Clara; numerous nephews and nieces; chosen family Peggy and the late Ralph White.

Besides her parents, Greta was predeceased by her husband Vinton in 2002; brothers Fred and Clinton; sisters Audrey, Shirley and Lillian; and half-sisters Dorothy and Marion.

Interment has already occurred. Expressions of sympathy may be left in the form of a condolence to her memorial page.
