Obituary of Joyce Virginia McCullough

Joyce Virginia McCullough, age 88 of Little River passed away on Nov 13, 2020 at Digby General Hospital. Born in Grand Manan on November 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Mary (Brooks) Banks.

Joyce came to Nova Scotia with her husband Cereno and her six children. She loved walking to the post office every chance she got. Knitting was also a favourite pastime of hers. Countless hours were spent making sweaters and mittens for all the local children. She was a long-time member of the Little River Baptist church.

She was a one-of-a-kind soul and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by son Bruce; daughters Sharon, Virginia and Dawn; grandchildren Gary, Blair, Jason, Bobby, Kenny, Aric, Brad, Scott, Ritchie, Francis, Franky, Karen, Vicki, Tina, Lori, Beth, Mandi and Robin; many great-grandchildren; sisters Debbie, Viola and Marie; and brother Chris.

Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband Cereno; sons Delmar and Francis; great-granddaughter Jessica; sister Barbara; brothers Emerson (in infancy), Llewelyn and Malcolm.

Cremation has taken place and no funeral services at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Little River Baptist Church and the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
