Kay (kathleen), was much more than a step mom to me. I've been lucky enough to call her a great friend that I loved, trusted, laughed and cried with. Her sense of humor, her patience (or not so patient 'get r done' mode), and especially her creativity, is what I will always remember her for. Although the distance was great, I have and always will carry a piece of her in my heart. My husband would laugh at me when I'd be out shopping and say 'hey theres something for Kay's spring box', five months before I'd send it out! We had a little thing going, of sending out treats to each other every spring and I'm going to miss that way of keeping in touch. I loved that she always said 'Welcome Home!' and would give me a big hug when I'd visit! What a sweet person she was to make all of us feel comfortable in her home. To my kids, she will always be 'Grandma K' they enjoyed the banter every time they visited, often spoke to her on the phone, and will miss her loving presence. I'm hoping Cathy, Donnie, Kay's brother Mike, and their families will find comfort in the precious memories of their mom and sister at this time.
