Obituary of Howard David Arenburg

Howard David Arenburg, 90 of Cambridge passed away peacefully on January 29, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital.  Born in North River, he was the son of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Shaffer) Arenburg.

Howard left home at the tender age of twelve to make a life for himself.  By the age of 23, he married the love of his life, Beatrice (Bezanson) and they had two children. Howard was an extremely hard worker and held positions at a pulp wood mill before becoming a full-time employee with Larsens Packers Ltd., he remained with Larsens until his retirement in 1992. Every summer, his passion for farming and tending his vegetable gardens, allowed him to run his produce stand.

When Howard had some time to spare, he would enjoy hunting, card games, camping, bluegrass festival with Bea, watching hockey, baseball, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on the T.V.

Even though Howard was a hard worker, he would always make sure he made the time to help his family and friends whenever they were in need.

Howard was loved and respected by his family and friends, and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children Gail Llewellyn and David (Helen) Arenburg, both of Cambridge; brothers Earl (Helen) Arenburg, Conquerall Mills and Lester (Linda) Cleveland, Cambridge; sisters Shirley (Hazel) Arenburg, Amherst; Leora (Leo) Spinney, White Rock; Percillia (Dennis) Dixon, Cambridge; Violet (Roger) Salsman, Cambridge; grandchildren Sheri-Lynn (Kim) Collins, Leslie (Angie) Llewellyn, Steven (Shelley) Llewellyn, Drew Arenburg, Claire Arenburg and Collin Arenburg; great-granchildren Kaitlin, Ryan, Emily, Nicholas, Brady, Ashton, Hayley and Chase; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Howard was predeceased by his beloved wife Beatrice (Bezanson) Arenburg; brothers Harold, Leslie, Charles, Clarence and Emmerson; sisters Helen Tanner and Pearl Brewster.

A Service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Waterville District Fire Dept.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
