Obituary of Burt Alonzo Schofield

Please share a memory of Burt to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Burt Alonzo Schofield, passed away peacefully early on Saturday, February 6, 2021.   Born in Windsor Forks on June 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Evelyn (Tracey) Schofield.

Burt was a carpenter by trade and by hobby.   He was also an avid yard sale and flea market attendee with a collection that is both eclectic and extensive.   He was a devoted gardener with a very green thumb and loved to share the bounty of his gardens and fruit trees with family and friends.   In years past, he enjoyed hunting, four wheeling and going to his camp.   His love of hunting may have led to his collection of deer antlers, that has been admired by so many.

He is survived by his daughters Michele (Sandy) Flynn and Roslyn Wile; son Elmore Rolfe and daughter-in-law, Jenny; grandchildren Justin (Meagan) Flynn, Stephanie Flynn, Karen (James) Weisner, Trevor (Melanie) Rolfe and Joey (Macey) Rolfe; great-grandchildren Jack and Aubrey Flynn, Gabrielle and Gavin Rolfe and Nyla and Mitchell Rolfe; one sister Vivian Shawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Rolfe); brothers Harley, Douglas, Carl, Earl, Ervin and Milton; sisters Myrna, Madeline and Helen.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 500 at the Hants Community Hospital for their care and kindness over the past few months.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Vaughans Community Cemetery followed by a reception at the SouthWest Hants Fire Hall in Vaughans.   Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are only allowed 50 people at the Fire Hall and face masks must be worn. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Kidney Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
