Obituary of Bertha Irene Clamp

Bertha Irene Clamp, 88 of Kentville passed away in the Valley Regional hospital on May 4, 2021. Born on February 16, 1933, and was a life-long resident of Kentville, a Valley girl and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Bertha was the daughter of Charles Clamp, an engineer on the DAR, and Emma Clamp, a beautiful homemaker and cook. They lived on Chester Avenue in Kentville.

 

Bertha made friendships for a lifetime, she loved and cherished her friends as her family. She was also a founding member of the JULIETs, and was well known for her unforgettable and happy get-togethers.

 

Bertha was a graduate of Kings Academy and Mack’s Business College of Kentville. She worked for Rainey Insurance in Halifax, and the Provincial Family Court in Halifax and Kentville.

 

She is survived by Aunt Nell; cousins, nieces and nephews; great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews all over the world; as well as her devoted nephew, Connie Brigley, Jr. of Centreville and his family.

 

Besides her parents, Bertha was predeceased by siblings Bill, Jack, Towney, Eric, Florence (Con Brigley, Sr. of Halifax), Albert Clamp and Doris Stewart.

 

A Memorial will be held at a later date when we can celebrate Bertha’s life in a larger group.

 

There is no visitation by request and a Graveside Service will be held in the Elm Grove Cemetery by invitation only. Memorial donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Cancer Patient Navigator or Diabetes Canada.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
