Please share a memory of Greta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Greta B. Sweet, 89 of Aldersville passed away peacefully on May 8, 2021 in the Evergreen Home for Special Care.  She was the daughter of the late Guy and Evelyn (Dorey) Keddy.

She worked at the Kentville Research Station where she enjoyed picking apples and was also employed at the Graves Plant that was located in Kentville. Greta was devoted to her Anglican Church and a member of the Golden Age Club.  Later in life, she enjoyed living in Evergreen Home and loved the interactions she had with staff and management.  Greta became involved with all the activites Evergreen had offered.

Greta was a dedicated wife and mother.  She kept her family warm by making them fine quilts; and her love for cooking and baking, as well as being in the company of her family and friends; kept their bellies full making the best apple pies and biscuits. As much as Greta treasured her family, she also enjoyed playing Bingo, 45s, catching rabbits and fishing.

Greta was known by many for the smile on her face and the happy-go-lucky bounce in her step.

She is survived by her sons Eugene Sweet and Fred Sweet, both of New Ross; brother Vernon Keddy and Gordon Keddy, both of Kentville; sisters Freda Russell, Mansfield, USA; Carolyn Willis, Quebec; Mona Harrod, Sackville; Eileen Colwell, Halifax; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Greta was predeceased by her loving husband, Vincent Sweet; son Jerry Sweet; brother Gardner Keddy; and sister Ada Grant.

A Service will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm in Aldersville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Aldersville Cemetery or charity of one’s choice.
