Obituary of Stanley Nesbitt

Please share a memory of Stanley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Stanley Nesbitt, 87 of Digby passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton.  Born in Weymouth, he was the son of the late William and Flossie (Brown) Nesbitt.

Stanley was a scallop fisherman until he retired due to health issues.  He has so much love for the outdoors, feeding the birds, trout fishing, camping, hunting and picnics.  Stanley spent his last 20 plus years, married to his loving wife Lois.  They both had such a great appreciation for the outdoors, taking their cat, Damsel, for walks down the lane.

He will be lovingly remembered by his grandsons’ memories of taking them on long drives on the back roads, listening to a variety of music.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife Lois (Haight); son Stephen (Lynn), New Germany; daughters Taryn (Ricky) Melanson, Digby; Darlene Hersey, Digby; Sherry (Scot) Lohnes, Bridgewater; grandchildren Cory Hersey, Digby; Mitchell (Erica) Nesbitt, New Germany; Beck Nesbitt, Bridgewater; Coutney Lohnes, Bridgewater; Alisha (Toby) Brydon, New Minas, Brandon Melanson; great-grandchildren Brook, Claire and Skylah Nesbitt, Raven and Daxton Surette; and sister Nellie Theriault.

In addition to his parents, Stanley was predeceased by brothers Jack, Victor, Kenneth, Charlie and Theadore; sisters Kathleen Mullen, Ernistine Cosman, Violet, Cosman, Patsy Pyne and Dorothy Brehaut.

We, the family, would like to thank staff, nurses and doctors at Mountain Lee Lodge for taking such great care of Stanley, especially during the difficult time of COVID-19.

A ZOOM Memorial Service will be held on June 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm, meeting ID # 83152915511 passcode: 864762. Interment in the North Range Cemetery in Digby on a later date.
