Deepest condolences on Uncle Jim’s passing. My memories of your dad are all about the joy and the levity he brought to every visit. That smile was so infectious that all who were in his presence could not hold back theirs! A super positive person who demonstrated empathy and caring for the others around him.
His light lives on in us all. Be safe and shine. :-)
With love Kevin Pinch.

Hi Kevin,
How wonderful to hear from you! I hope you and your family are well.
Thank you for the donation to the Canadian Cancer Society on my Dad's behalf.
Thank you so much too for sharing your memories of my Dad. It feels so good to know you remember him so well and that he left such a positive impression on you.
I miss him laughing and slapping his leg... throwing his head back. He really had a great personality.
He is at peace now.
Love you

Note: I (Lise) am posting this on behalf of The CBC Pensioners
National Association - Maritimes Region
We have lost another of the TV pioneers from Halifax. Jim Longmire was a good natured coordinating producer who became a good natured member of this association. Jim started in radio after learning about radio communications in the
air force. Before computers, coordinating producers sat at the control desk and helped stitch all the bits of videotape, film, sound and commercials into a seamless presentation, live on air. Those were the days!
As shown above, Jim was very good at his job, quiet, pleasant, and focussed.
We will miss him.
Our condolences to Jim’s family.

Uncle Jim was a wonderful man. His humour was contagious and that smile just brought happy to the day.... His jokes were always memorable and his stories of hunting and friends were captivating.
Rest easy now my ‘best uncle Jim’ ... ( he would say’ since I’m your only uncle Jim!’ ) just remember Lisa and Gina that memories heal the heart best Love you two. ‘Judy ‘

I am so sorry to hear of your fathers passing Gina and Lise. He will always be Mr. Longmire to me! I remember him well; always a nice man. I remember being in your Dads truck Gina with you when we were kids on his CB radio. Not sure if he ever knew we did that talking to the truckers! Thinking of you all at this time. Sincerely Dawn Fry(Clattenburg)

Hello Dawn,
What a surprise to hear from you! Dad loved the CB radio and also ham radio (VE1QU) - I remember him talking to people all over the world. He had boxes of postcards from people he never met but conversed with.
I hope you and your family are well. The good old days in Prince's Lodge.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Hi Judi,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your father as well. These times are never easy for anyone but I do find the memories just keep flooding back to me of my childhood. It's good to get out all the old pictures and enjoy.
Take care and stay safe too.
