Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Thomas Randall “Tom” Inkpen, 82, of Dartmouth.

Tom passed away peacefully at home on October 31st with his wife and children by his side from complications of IPF. He was born in Halifax on May 23, 1939, the eldest son of George and Edith Inkpen.

Tom loved people and was always willing to lend a hand. Fly and saltwater fishing, hunting and camp time with his buddies, golf at Airlane with his favorite foursome, coaching Ellenvale Girls Basketball and playing basketball anywhere there was an open net were his passions but none so much as his time spent at his cottage on Indian Point with his family and friends. Tom was a long-time member of Woodlawn United Church serving many years as a trustee and also served as a trustee of the Woodlawn Cemetery Committee.

Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay (Dunbar) Inkpen; son, Randy (Leanne), Dartmouth; daughters, Kori (Lorenzo), Redmond WA; and Wendi (Mike), Rossland BC; cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) and Jaclyn Inkpen; Gabi and Declan Quinn and Cameron and Connor Nagle; sister-in-law Susan Wells; former son-in-law, Jeff Quinn, god-daughter, Margaret Champion; brother, Albert; and several special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Bill and Hope Dunbar and brother-in-law Wayne Wells.

Anyone who knew Tom, knows he was a hugger, so in lieu of flowers please give your family or friends a covid safe hug in his memory.

For those wishing to do a memorial donation please do so to a charity of your choice. A service of celebration will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
