Obituary of Donna Marie Nickerson
Donna Marie Nickerson, 66 of Weymouth, peacefully passed away November 1, 2021 in the Yarmouth Hospital. Born in Doucetteville, she was the daughter of the late Gifford Doucette and Melvina (Thibadeau) Nickerson.
Donna was a very loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, auntie, homemaker, and babysitter; and she still had time to be a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Doucetteville. With her overwhelming kindness, thoughtfulness, and caring nature she would help anyone in need, and sometimes that came in the form of a visit to chat over a cup of tea. Donna relished in the thought of attending social events and going to parties, as well, she also loved to tell stories and have a good belly laugh with family and friends. She would also enjoy playing bingo, darts, cards, and working with ceramics.
By far, her most joyful moments were filled baking for and spending time with her cherished grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Jody) Benedict, Weymouth; Kristina Delegarde, Digby; grandchildren, Amber Benedict, Riley Benedict, Kaitlynn Benedict, Alana Richard, Marshall Richard, and Ryder Richard; great-grandson, Callen Benedict; sister Helen Speight and Joyce (Roger) Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Irene Smith and Anne Marie (Mike) Bertin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her husband, Robert Delegarde; brother, Nelson Nickerson; brothers-in-law, Johnny Speight and Albert Smith; nephews, Troy Ferguson and Brian Speight.
Cremation has taken place and a service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
