Vanessa Marie Gennette (McIntyre), age 44, passed peacefully on December 24, 2021; in her loved filled home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Rose and the late Patrick McIntyre.
Vanessa was a beautiful person inside and out.
She cared deeply for her family, especially her husband and kids. She was remarkably thoughtful and kind, had a mind that was sharp as a tack, and carried herself with self-respect, dignity and class. She was so well-known by her cheerful demeanor; that those closest to her called her "Happy-Ness". Her dedication to her children was undeniable and she always wanted the best for them; and for them to know the value of hard work, love, and commitment.
Vanessa, Néal, and the kids enjoyed summers together in Prince Edward Island; living on island time filling life with board games, cards, books, long walks on the beach, and most of all; building wonderful memories of love and laughter with one another. Vanessa often commented that she had heaven on earth.
Vanessa was a devout Catholic, and a faithful servant to many Christian communities. For many years she served as the office manager for Wolfville Baptist & Port Williams United Baptist Church. These communities were unwavering in their support for her and her family during their time of need. She took great joy from her role with the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir for the past number of years which both her children participated.
In addition to her mother, Vanessa is survived by her loving husband, Néal; children, Ashton and Elise; sister, Kim (Rod); brother, Ryan (Sara); as well as many loving relatives, in-laws, and friends.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to all medical professionals, generous individuals and organizations that provided support to Vanessa over the past year.
