Obituary of Marion Estella Thibodeau

Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marion Estella Thibodeau (Addington), age 80 of Brighton, announce her passing on March 8, 2022 in Tideview Terrace, Digby. Marion was born on August 20, 1941, to the late Edward and Elaine Addington of Little River.

Marion attended St Pat’s Business School in Digby, was a bookkeeper, worked in the mink, raced stock cars in her younger years, volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society and was an exceptional mom and grandmother. Marion was a kind-hearted, generous soul, loved by many, who was always willing to help where she could and who she could. Marion was famous for her quick turn around time for a hot supper for a last-minute crowd and of course for her highly demanded “hard cookies”.

Marion was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles, after 62 years of marriage. Marion leaves behind her children, Charles (Jennifer) Thibodeau of Whale Cove; Michelle (Clyde) Thibodeau Wagner of Harmony; and Mark Thibodeau, Meteghan; grandchildren Chris Thibodeau, Sandy Cove; Jamie Thibodeau, Sandy Cove; Heather Thibodeau, Meteghan; Alicia Thibodeau-Silkie, Alberta; Adrienne Thibodeau, Alberta; Noah Wagner, Harmony; Spencer Wagner, Kingston; Grace Wagner, Harmony; and eight great-grandchildren. Marion’s constant sidekick, her Blue Heeler Buddy, will always miss her love, scratches and treats. Marion was very blessed to have special lifelong friends in her life, whom she always treasured.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marion was predeceased by her step-father Theodore Teed; her brothers Donnie Addington and Bobby Addington.

A special thank you to the wonderful staff of Langford House at Tideview Terrace.  They provided amazing fun, trips, treats, manicures and the most of all the greatest care possible.  They are truly special people and for that, our family is deeply grateful!

At Marion’s request there will be no funeral service or visitation.  A private interment will take place in the St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Church Point at a later date.  Anyone interested in making a memorial donation may do so to the Tideview Terrace Recreation fund. If anyone would like to send a message of condolence you can do so by mail to 565 Greenwood Road, Harmony NS, B0P 1R0. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
