Earl Leroy Henshaw, 95 of Lockhartville, passed away on May 12, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 17, 1926 in Lockhartville, he was the son of the late Percy and Mary (Brewster) Henshaw.

Earl was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed. His passion was his vegetable garden which is where Earl loved to be and tended to faithfully.

He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Myles, Greenwich; Katherine “Kathy” Burton, Lockhartville; Sandra “Sandy” (Kenneth) Parr, Lockhartville; Cheryl (Dale) Connors, Hantsport; grandchildren, Jennifer Parr, Jason Parr, Shanna Bauchman, Sarah Armstrong, Anthony Connors; great-grandchildren, Seth, Liam, Ella, Marayah, Bodhi, Kaidince, Tori, Connor, Lucas, Brock, Taylor; brother, Warren; sister, Alice; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Earl was predeceased by his beloved wife, Winnifred “Winnie” (Spencer); daughter, Gloria; sons-in-law, Fred and Laird; grandsons, Brian and Kenneth; sisters, Irene, Annie, Alma, and Ida; brothers, Gordon, Joe, Paul, Sheldon, George, Rodney, Richard, and Harry in infancy.

Special thanks to Earl’s niece, Francis Henshaw, who was a great help in his care which was much appreciated and will not be forgotten. The family would also like to thank the VON and Palliative Care workers, Dawn Lowe and all involved at the Hantsport Clinic.

Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Lower Horton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the VON (Victorian Order of Nurses), Annapolis Branch, Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation, or charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
