Obituary of David Micheal Hickey
David Michael Hickey, 59 of Waterville, Kings County, passed away in his home on May 27, 2022. David was born in Halifax to the late Ernest and Anita Hickey on May 14, 1963.
David was a loyal employee of the Michelin plant in Waterville for many years. He loved his family very much. David had an artistic side that few people saw and he adored all animals, but especially his budgie "Feathers", who was a great companion. He had a passion for gardening and a love of good music.
David was a gentle soul who will be missed dearly. Rest in peace brother, you are truly home with lots of loved ones at your side.
He is survived by his son, Cody Hickey and daughter, Jessica Hickey, both of Kentville; grandsons, Calib and Kayden; brothers, Ernest (Betty) of Canning; Wayne (Marion) of Sackville; Edward of Port Williams; and sister, Darlene (Paul) Doucette of Canning. David will also be fondly remembered by nieces, Loni (Rodney); Amelia; Mindy; and nephew, Robert (Amanda); as well as great-nephews, Aiden and Elliott; step-mother, Geraldine Hickey of Canning; and many more extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his son, Shawn Hickey of Kings County; daughter-in-law, Courtney MacDonnell of Cape Breton; and sister-in-law, Gwen Hickey.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations, in David’s memory, may be made to your local food bank. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
