Obituary of Sheila Ann Isabel Sibley

Please share a memory of Sheila to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We are sad to announce the passing of Sheila Ann Isabel Sibley (Scoville), 77 of Marshalltown, in the morning hours of September 15, 2022. She was born in Yarmouth on May 13, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Stanley Scoville and Isabel Scoville (Conway).

Sheila spent most of her youth growing up in Halifax and moved to Digby in her late teens where she met the love of her life, Wilfred. She was also a volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies auxiliary. Over the years, she ran a few small businesses until her and Wilfred purchased Basin Taxi in Digby. She was a dispatcher in the taxi business for many years until she retired.

Sheila was always focused on her family and their well-being. Her pride and joy were all of her grandchildren. Nanny was always up for a visit or a phone call to see how everyone was doing and offer advice if needed.

The doors in her home were always open for family and friends to stop by for a good conversation.

She is survived by her two children, Jane Oliver (Hal) and Brian Sibley (Yvette); along with her five grandchildren, Samantha Dagenais (Tyler); Craig Oliver (Christie); Alyssa Sibley; Jeanelle Sibley; Brendan Sibley; great-grandchild, Tyler Dagenais; sister, Jane Giddings (Glenn); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wilfred Sibley of Marshalltown.

The family would like to thank the staff at Digby Regional Hospital, VON, Digby/Clare Home Support Agency, her private care staff and EHS for all of their assistance over the past few years.

At the family’s request, there will be a private service held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
