Obituary of Golda Marie Kelly
Golda Marie Kelly, 92 of Kingsport, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2022 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Martin’s Point, she was the daughter of the late William and Hulda (DeMille) Rafuse.
In her earlier years, Golda worked at C&M Ells (Port Williams), Scotian Gold (Hillaton, Kentville, and Coldbrook), and Prescott House (Starr’s Point). During Golda’s years, she enjoyed quilting and rug-hooking. She had also been a warden of the St. Thomas Anglican Church in Kingsport and a member of the Women’s Institute.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (George) Davidson, Canaan, Kings Co.; son, Leonard (Linda) Kelly, Kingsport; grandchildren, Trevor and Tabatha; great-granddaughters, Mahaila, Jasmine, Kiara, and Mataea; great great-granddaughters, Everleigh and Parker; sisters, Flora Brown, Canning; Rose (Ralph) Sim, New Glasgow; Sandra Nichols, Port Williams; brother, Ron (Sylvia) Rafuse, Woodville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Golda was predeceased by her husband, Waldon Kelly; sister, Delores Weisner; brothers, Leon Rafuse and Lochlan William “Bud” Rafuse.
Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Church Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Thomas Anglican Church (10778 Pier Road, Route 221,Kingsport, NS). Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
