Obituary of Valera Evangeline Hoeksema

Valera “Val” Hoeksema, 90 of Berwick, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2022 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Scots Bay, she was the daugher of the late Oscar and Ida Tupper.

Val is survived by daughter, Nancy (Brian) Boddy of Kingston; son Ron (Cathy) Harris of Lower Sackville; daughter-in-law, Carla Harris of Greenwood Square; siblings, Edwin Tupper and Murial Keddy;  and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Val was prececeased by first husband, Frank Harris and second husband, Gerard Hoeksema; son, Jon K. Harris; grandson, Ronald E.W. Harris; and brothers, Nolan, Willis, and Terrance Tupper.

Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Valley Regional Hospital for their care and compasson while taking care of Val. Also to the staff of Fundy Villa in Berwick for their kindness and care during her time living there.

There will be no visitation and a family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Wilmot Baptist Church or Arthritis Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
