Obituary of Carol Jean Dickson

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandmother (Nanny), great-grandmother (GiGi), sister, aunt and friend, Carol Jean Dickson, who was surrounded by her family on January 3, 2023 at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax at the age of 70 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Tracy, Christina (Christopher), Jubal “Jason” (Leona); six grandchildren, Kyleisha, Lyprincia, Braxtyn, Evan, Gage, Madyx; and one great-granddaughter, Nairobi.

She was predeceased by her twin grandsons, Bryson and Bailey; brother, Brian; and parents Maurille and Laura Hamelin.

She was the central figure in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.  Anyone who knew her, knew they were the twinkle in her eyes and that’s all that ever mattered to her.  She loved watching her granddaughters compete for hours in gymnastics and trampoline competitions.  She even most recently became a dedicated Raptors fan.  Through the years of her children growing up anyone who ever met her always called her “Mom”.

She absolutely loved her job working at Lawtons Drugs (Primose) for many years.  She was such a hardworking and dedicated employee.  She will be greatly missed by her friends and coworkers.

A special thank you goes out to the Palliative Care doctors, nurses and staff at the Victoria General Hospital, 7th Floor, Halifax.

As per Carol’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no Service.  A private Celebration of Life with family and friends, by invite only, will take place at Brightwood Golf and Country Club Saturday, January 7, 2023.  Memorial donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
