Ruby Gail Pineo Obituary

With sadness, we acknowledge the passing of Ruby Gail Pineo, of Dartmouth, on February 4, 2023, in the Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Halifax. Born in Berwick on August 11, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William and Phyllis (Joudrey) Murphy.


Ruby worked with the DND at CFB Greenwood as a kitchen labourer for many years. Ruby will be remembered as a good mom, and a vibrant and social person with a strong independent streak.  


Ruby is survived by her three children, Kenny, Teena, and Darrell; grandchildren, Martin (Caet) and Joey (Aislynn); sisters, Margaret, Judy, and Rosemary; and numerous other siblings, family, and friends. 


 


In addition to her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon Pineo; sister, Jenny; and beloved cats, Baby and Psycho. 


 


Special thanks to the staff on the 3rd floor at Veterans Memorial for your care during the last year.

There will be no visitation by request. A private service will be held with interment at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made in Ruby’s memory to the NS SPCA.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
