Lilian Marie Kuhn (MacAvoy), age 70 of Mount Uniacke, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023 in the QEII Hospital, surrounded by family. Born in Halifax, Lillian was the daughter of Ida and Albert Covin.

Lillian was a small woman, with a big heart, who was loved by everyone. She enjoyed early morning coffee chats with anyone who walked through her door, and her door was always open. She worked endlessly as a full-time wife and mother, grandmother, Nanny and Gigi. Children were her passion and she welcomed and mothered many throughout the years who still call her mom. Lillian was not a fancy woman sweatpants and t-shirts were her uniform of choice. She was a gentle soul with a contagious laugh who liked to have fun, and always up for anything. 

Lillian is survived by her husband of 46-years, John; son, Johnny (Lisa), Halifax; daughters, Ida (Carl) Jackson, Winnipeg, MB; Judith (Ronald) Hiltz, Mount Uniacke; Tina,  Mount Uniacke; brothers, Victor MacAvoy, Sackville; Robert MacAvoy  (Marilyn), Lower Sackville; Albert Covin (Charline), Dartmouth; sisters, Evelyn Ambrose, Calgary, AB; Margaret MacAvoy, Leamington ON; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by brother, William; and sister, Debbie.

Cremation has taken place. A Service will be held at Saint Francis by the Lakes Anglican Church, 192 First Lake Drive, Lower Sackville, on March 25, 2023 at 1 pm. Following the Service, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 162, 45 Sackville Cross Road, Lower Sackville, at 3 pm. In Lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
