Obituary of Wilma Faye Rand

Wilma Faye Rand, age 89, passed peacefully April 8, 2023, at home, Edgemere Manor, in Dartmouth. Born in Berwick on November 20, 1933, to Victor & Mary (Norman) Rand. She was an accomplished seamstress and crafter, having knitted hundreds of toques and mittens for students of Harbour View Elementary and Dartmouth High School that can still be spotted keeping kids warm around Halifax and Dartmouth.
Wilma is survived by beloved former spouse, Robert Arthur Morse; sons, David (Patsy) Morse, Alan (Judy) Morse, and Arthur (Mary) Morse; daughter, Tina Morse; sister, Gwen (Floyd) Peterson; grandchildren, Adam (Jenna) Findlay, Geena Morse, Jacob Morse, and Emma Morse; great-grandchildren, Skye Findlay and Willow Findlay; and many nieces and nephews.
Wilma was predeceased by son, Lorimer Morse; brother, Boyd Rand; sisters, Doris Snell and Eleanor Aalders; and grandson, Jordan Morse.
A special thanks to the caregivers at Continuing Care for their compassion and attentiveness, Meals on Wheels, Kim Smith for her friendship and helping to keep Wilma’s home tidy, and staff, friends, and residents of Edgemere for their kindness and friendship over the past 30+ years.
A graveside service and celebration will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Father John MacPherson officiating. An opportunity will be offered graveside to share thoughts and memories and we encourage you to share. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
