Obituary of Claude Reginald Giffin

On Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, Claude Giffin, a long-time resident of Dartmouth, passed away at the Dartmouth General Hospital following a stroke a week earlier. Claude was born in Windsor on August 16, 1941, to Reginald and Lily Giffin.
Claude’s brothers, Ronald and Reid; and sister-in-law, Shirley Giffin predeceased him. He is survived by brother, Brian (Rita); sister, Pauline; sister-in-law, Patricia Giffin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Claude received his undergraduate degree from Acadia University and an engineering degree from Nova Scotia Technical College. He worked on several engineering projects in the Halifax area and later taught at the Nova Scotia Community College in Dartmouth.
He was happiest spending time on his property in the Annapolis Valley and enjoying an evening of bridge with friends.
At Claude’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. He was a major supporter of the World Wildlife Fund. Donations may be made in Claude’s memory to Dalhousie Medical School’s Human Donation Program or a charity of your choice.
