Obituary of Amanda Marie Walker
Amanda Marie Walker, age 64 of Chester, passed away from cancer in the South Shore Regional Hospital on April 24, 2023, among those who loved her. She was the daughter of the late George and Lynne Walker.
Amanda graduated from New Ross Consolidated School with a full scholarship to St. Mary’s University where she received a Bachelor of Commerce Magna Cum Laude. After graduating from university she worked at Touche Ross, Chandler and Davis, and then from home. Her passions included her daughter Holly, cooking, music, puzzles, and her two cats.
Amanda is survived by her sisters, Melony (Mike) Melanson and Sonya Walker (Robert); aunt, Marge (John) Bezeau; and special cousin, Ryan (Amy) Bezeau.
In addition to her parents, Amanda was predeceased by her daughter, Holly VanBarneveld; brother, Steven Walker; and special cousin, Danielle Baker.
The family would like to thank the staff of the 3rd Floor of the South Shore Regional Hospital.
A Visitation will take place from 2-3, with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 pm; both on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in the New Ross Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place immediately following the service in the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Bonny Lea Farm or Muscular Dystrophy of Canada.
