The Family is saddened to announce the passing of our father, Robert “Bob” Wilson Mcleod, WO, Retd., Bear River East, on May 22, 2023, in Digby General Hospital at the age of 85 following a valiantly fought brief illness. Bob was born in Bolton, Ontario on December 5, 1937, to the late Anna (nee Wilson) Kitchener and Robert N. Bob enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) in 1954 and retired in 1979. Throughout his career, Bob was able to explore the world as he served on many HMCS ships and is a survivor of the HMCS Kootenay explosion in 1969.
After retiring from the Navy, Bob worked at the boat shed in Annapolis Royal and later at the water treatment plant at Cornwallis before he retired.
Upon retirement, Dad enjoyed his time spent at his Cabin at Mulgrave Lake with friends and family, raising cattle, Ox Pulls, hunting, watching sports, word puzzles. His favorite pastime being anything NASCAR related. Bob also loved to have political debates. Dad was happiest when family and friends dropped by for a visit.
