Obituary of Catherine Ann Sarson

Catherine Ann Sarson July 18,1963 - May 23, 2023. A beautiful soul, extraordinary woman, loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, gruntie (great aunt), family to many and friend to all.

Catherine lived a life full of joy, love and happiness. She always told the truth and said it like it was.

Born in Montreal on July 18, 1963, grew up in Eastern Passage and settled in Cole Harbour.

Cath loved Elizabeth, her family especially being an aunt and gruntie, her diverse group of friends, the ocean, day trips, woodworking, tinkering, history, tools, her shed, birds, animals, and hosting parties especially for her birthday!

The love and support she gave to those close to her was fierce and unwavering. She had a quick wit, great sense of humor, extraordinary smile, and laugh. Cath made everyone feel welcome and included.

She had numerous jobs over her working career including the Sea King Club, Group Homes, Oceanview Manor, Homecare and for the last 20-years as Skippy at Dartmouth General Hospital.

She will be deeply missed by all lucky enough to call her family or friend.

Predeceased by her father, Harry. Cath leaves behind the love of her life Elizabeth; mother, Judith; sister, Linda; brother, Tom; nieces and nephews; great niece and nephews; as well as many extended family members; and extraordinary friends.

Elizabeth would like to send her heartfelt thank you to our family and friends for their love and support making the last 6-weeks of life bearable. There are no words other than thank you.

To the wonderful team of Dartmouth General ICU, your care, compassion, empathy, and love were beyond measure. Elizabeth and family are forever grateful.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eastern Passage Buffalo Club May 31, 2023,  from 2-4 pm. Donations for an ICU memorial project in memory of Cath can be made at the Celebration of Life or through the Dartmouth General Hospital website.

Catherine will live in the hearts of those she touched. Gone, never forgotten.
