Judith (“Judy”) Lloyd posted a condolence
Saturday, December 16, 2023
I’m saddened to learn (a bit late) the news of Richard’s passing earlier this year. He was such a kind gentleman. We had many interesting discussions in recent years re Lloyd family history, in which the Skinner family played a part. He was a keen historian & provided some great info re the events in the earlier days of the Lloyds. I will miss his presence in this project & send my sincere sympathy to his family.
Well done Richard - you have duly earned your rest & have a crown of many jewels. God bless you!
Sincerely,
Judith (“Judy”) Lloyd

My condolences to all of Richard’s family. I remember Richard as Mr. Skinner, the principal of the little Cambridge Elementary School that I attended. I saw him in his later years and he was always a wealth of information about the local area. May you be comforted at this sad time with special memories.

I'd like to extend my sympathy to Richard's family at this sad time. Richard loved history! I quickly learned that while I worked at the Kings County Museum for many years. Richard saved, researched and recorded many aspects of the heritage of the county. His love of genealogy, maps and early roads, and the artifacts he collected was well known and he was always eager to share his stories with me and others. His work with the Burial Care Society helped save many abandoned cemeteries in the county bringing dignity back to those buried and long forgotten. Thank you Richard for your many years of volunteer work with the Kings Historical Society, the Community and Family History Committee and the Burial Care Society. You will be missed!

I first met Richard at the Hostess Frito-Lay plant. We used to have very interesting talks. I also know him through the Kings Historical Society. He gave me a copy of the Planters and Pioneers on Nova Scotia and we had for a time shared information through e-mails. He had a wealth of knowledge which he readily shared. He will be truly missed. Condolences to his family and his many friends and acquaintances he made throughout the years. Rest In Peace dear Richard.
