Dear Janelle, Dom, Matt, Adrie and Ryland
We were so sad to hear the news of Frank's passing. We have many fond memories of spending time with Frank and Janelle over the years. One thing we will always remember is Frank's boisterous laugh and his great stories of his early days in Mattapan. There were many laughs with Frank on the golf courses of Paragon, Aroostook Valley and Berwick Heights.
Please know that are thoughts are with you at this difficult time. May the love of friends and family comfort you.

I am saddened to learn of Mr. Eifler's passing but happy to know he has lived a very fulfilling life. He was a really great teacher. His infectious laugh and smile could literally change your whole mood, but you didn’t want to test his patience. Thankfully, I was never on the receiving end of one of his famous "humdinga's" that many other students seem to have gotten when testing his patience. Instead, he was actually responsible for my love of history, especially ancient medieval history which continued on into my university years. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends and all his former students. It's not too often a teacher like Mr.Eifler can come along and make or leave a lasting impact on their students but he has certainly done this and he'll be thought of fondly in our memories for many years to come. I pray his family can take comfort in knowing he was genuinely respected and admired by so many of us. Rest peacefully Mr. Eifler.

I lived in Berwick for 5 years with my wife and son . We was at a Christmas concert at the school for our son.I knew it was Frank I could see a few rows in front. I got his attention after it was over. He said “ Mr Henderson! Where are my Humdinger’s?” Mr Eifler was the teacher that was hardest in me and I think that’s why he was also one of my favourites. Sorry for the family and community’s loss.

I am truly grateful that Mr Eifler was part of my journey. I genuinely loved his teaching style and held so much respect for him. He was an example of a great man! It has been years since he was part of my life over 25 years since I was his student at SVHS. I remember his giant laugh, his sturn but compassionate approach, his humdingers lol and the way that he made you feel (special and like you could actually grow to be someone important). He crosses my mind so frequently. The impact he made will be part of who I am forever. I had no contact with him since high-school but for some reason my world seemed fuller just knowing he was still out there. I cannot believe how much his passing had emotionally impacted me. Thank you to his family for sharing him with all his students for all those years. I am so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear the news of Frank.. Frank was a mentor to many and a down to earth sports fan.. Go Red Sox!
I remember Frank as my teacher and the humdingers we all had to do, if we were out of line. He always camanded respect for him and others. I am so glad to have had someone like Frank teaching during out teen years.
I always enjoyed long walks on the golf coarse with Frank discussing all the effective thoughts of the golf game and trying everyone of them in a single round of golf lol.
Frank will be missed but trust in this.. His teachings will live on in my generation and passed to the next.
Rest in peace Frank!

I'm not sure where to start......I've known Frank and Janelle since 1970ish, coming to Maine (Houlton) from Canada; where do I start? Camping trips to OOB - my son and Dominic being close in age......to getting their input as teachers whether I should put my son in school even though he would end up being much younger than his peers - and yes it worked out. Labor Day weekends at Fundy National Park, twelve days of a golfing holiday at Myrtle Beach, golfing at Aroostook Valley CC and the list goes on - can I mention the "pickle putter"? ;~)). After my husband (fellow fraternity brother) passed away 22 years ago our lives changed and we drifted in different directions - but I will always cherish those memories of times shared. Rest easy Frank - picturing some golf and poker up there in the afterlife...you will be missed by many.....

Frank Eifler.... this man was such a huge part of my teenage years, as was the whole family. I spent countless weekends at their house. Eating at their table, floating in their pool, driving Dominic and our friends where ever we wanted to go, with Frank and Janelle's car. They treated me like family. I will never forget Frank's big bellied laugh and his big smile. I love this family and I grieve with you. Hugs, Tonya

Please accept my sincere condolences. Not only was Mr. Eifler, our neighbor, he was one of 3 of my Favourite high school teachers. Frank taught me with his rough but kind manner, on the ways to write the “Humdinga” as he called it. It started with; As a Grade ___ student of southern Victoria high school, I must understand and know the rules and how to conduct myself….. and another 3/4 page. It was 2, then 5 and 10 or more until you learned your lesson. Frank was an incredible individual and forever impacted my life for the better. He used to say “ we are too civilized today, when I was young and attended an all boys school, the gym teacher would make us do laps and throw basketballs at our heads” thank you Mr. Eifler for not throwing one at mine!
Fly high!!
Todd McGuire.

Mr. Eifler was a fantastic teacher…a no-nonsense kinda guy when it came to adding structure to his classroom. Students came to his classroom to learn and those who thought they were there to act out soon learned what a “humdinger” was. Outside of school I had the privilege to make Frank many, many pizzas and of all the pizzas I’ve made for people Franks pizza preference is the only one I remember….”A large pizza with extra, extra, extra pepperoni.” Frank and Janelle were great neighbours and respected residents of Carlingford who will be missed. Rest in peace Mr. Eifler.

My deepest condolences to the family. Many things will go down in history about Mr. Eifler, His witty humour and one liners, his large laugh echoing through the Halls of SVHS, and his smile as he closed the door on me as I came down the hall late to class….but one thing that will never be forgotten by his students is his joy of the “humdingas” as he proudly said with his Boston accent just before you got the amount you had to write :). Sending positive vibes for strength and healing to the family he will be greatly missed.

Dear, dear Frank.....A larger-than-life person, Frank filled a room. Always a great friendly smile, a warm hug, a firm handshake, you knew he was glad to see you. YES!!, his storytelling was & will be ever treasured. His infectious hearty laughter still rings in all our ears. We, as a family, shared many good times & much laughter & memorable sharing of time together. A very companionable person, when sharing chat, also a good listener. Frank's love of & for his family, his multi-talented daughter, Dominic, his "side-kick" son-in-law Matthew, and his adoring special grandchildren, Adrie & Ryland... was so very evident to all. As a couple, Janelle & Frank were a special pair they exuded couplehood & completed each other wonderfully. Needlesstosay......a cliche, however, so very true, Frank is & will be missed greatly. Bless him & keep him.....the other Camerons.
