We are so very sorry to hear of Roland’s passing . He was such a hard working man , quiet, kind and always with a grin. He is part of the generation that molded the history of Avonport, as we knew growing up. We are saddened by losing , such a great man in our community. Roland was a great role model. He worked so hard all his life. Heading cattle and taking care of crops well after most had retired. I will always remember his positive demeanor as well. I will miss him.

When I remember Roland at the farm, I think of his chair Bedingfield the milk tank, where you would likely find his boots and lunch box. Whenever we had to find him, in the days before cell phones, we would start the search at Thai chair in the milk house.

Another Avonport resident has left us. My life long devoted friend and neighbor Roland Sponagle. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to daughters Waydee- Tanya - Rhonda - Joanne and families. and to the Sponagle brothers and families. I share your grief. Life as we knew it will never be the same.
