Obituary of Linda Madeline Blaney

Linda Madeline Blaney, age 72, of Kentville, passed away on October 19, 2023, surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Madeline (Clark) Blaney ,of Carleton, NB.

Linda grew up in Nortondale, NB, where she graduated from NACKAWIC High School in 1969 and Carleton County Vocational School in 1972. She loved all animals and shared her home with many cats over the years. Dispite her disability she kept herself busy with her hobbies of sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, reading, studying, doing puzzles, and playing computer games.

Linda never lost her love of dolls, and had great fun dressing and collecting them. However, her greatest joys in life were her two wonderful sons, Frederick (Heather), of Kentville; and Patrick, of Taylor, BC; her three beautiful grandchildren, Victoria, of Dartmouth; Jessica, of Kentville; and Sean Jones, of Kentville; her lovely great-grandson, Owen; and her precious great-granddaughter, Harley.

Linda is also survived by her brothers, Robert “Malcom” (Joan), of Nortondale, NB; Arnold “Clifford”, of Woodstock, NB; Frederick (Mary), of Fredericton, NB; and Barry (Bonnie), of Nortondale, NB; her sisters, Norma McPherson, of Houlton, ME, USA; Maxine Hudson, of Saint John, NB; Gail (Bryne) Bowser, of Salt Springs; Sandra (Paul) Brothers, of Millett, AB; and Jacqueline (George) Hill, of Howland Ridge, NB; her ex-husband and good friend , Jack Jones; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her special Aunt Doris and Uncle Walter Blaney.

In honouring Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).
