The most "Brian " memory that I have is when I purchased my first vehicle. It was a 1989 Pontiac Firefly, Brian saw me driving down Ochterloney Street and was promptly on my tail, following me into the staff parking lot of Dartmouth Police behind the King Street fire Station. Proceeded to laugh at my baby.. why did you buy that!!!??? It's BARF BLUE. To him it was always my barf blue car. Typical Brian. Can still hear his booming laugh.
One of a kind.
Hugs to you all

Our family lived just down the road from the Wassons in Minto, N.B. in the 40's. Often the Wasson boys (& girls?) would use the mud dump behind our place for sledding in winter. Both families took turns. No spats.
As I recall their father was the Superintendent or Manager of the local coal mine. They had a lovely home, replete with a white picket fence.
I would like to be advised of the date, time & place of the "Celebration of Life" planned for July of 2024, to reminisce about those far-gone days.

Lorraine and Family
We are sadden to hear of the passing of Brian.
We have fond memories of Brian from being neighbors on Lakeview Ave.. for almost 20 years.
We have memories of Brian and Nickie, the dog, racing up Lakeview Ave.; Brian at the wheel of the car and Nickie in hot pursuit. It was almost weekly event.
We have memories of his dog training skills. He was able to train our Jack Russell Terrier, Sophie, to be a guard dog. Or at least he said he trained her.
We will remember the stories of this nights at the cottage and the famous story telling group, somewhat influenced by demon rum. Always the rum!
We will remember Brian's mobile jewelry shop that always seemed to have that perfect piece of jewelry.
It will be hard to replace Brian but the vivid memories of Brian will stay with you forever.
Rest in peace Brian.

We were fortunate to live across the street from Brian for a number of years. He and Lorraine welcomed us to the neighbourhood and hosted our family at their cottage. He was kind and generous-always seemed to have time to help out a friend and neighbour.

I knew Brian from being interviewed and hired at G B Murphy Jewellers warehouse by him in 1973.I will always be amazed each time l remember him coming into the warehouse area and taking a wooden chair and face it towards him and then do a perfect hand stand on the back of it. Brian won a few extra lunch dollars as well as the other people on staff either won or lost their lunch money over weather myself,a co-worker and two friends could drive to Scraton Pennsylvania and back on the Long Weekend in September and be back for work at 8:30 am on Tuesday. So for proof, we plastered the back of the car with bumperstickers and kept all the receipts from our travels. I parked my car in the spot to the right of the front door of head office on Windmill Road and guess who was standing just inside the main door, BRIAN ! He asked to see the receipts and he was smiling from ear to ear. Then away he went into each department to as he said with that infectious laugh, to tell everyone we were back. I think he was collecting his well earned lunch money from all who lost theirs. I was very honored in 1976 when Brian discreetly asked if l would fly down to Reilgh North Carolina to retrieve Mr and Mrs. Murphy's car and the contents, as Mrs. Murphy had passed away suddenly on the way home to Dartmouth from Florida. Brian and his wife showed me much appreciation for retrieving the car for Mr.Murphy within 3 days. Many thought l would take at least a week, but to show respect to Brian, l had the car back in three days. Later that year l had to become an employee of the hostile jewellery firm which overtook G. B. M.urphy Jewellers. In 1978 Brian got wind that I was not happy where l was working, so he asked me to come back and work for him.I worked with him on the road doing inventory and got the use of both luxurious company cars. In 1981 l decided to join Capital Health Central Stores where I spent the next 30 years. When ever Brian was near, he would always stop by to have a sincere friendly chat and always had that heart warming laugh. Rest in peace Brian, you will be missed!

Doug and I were so saddened to hear of Brian’s passing. It was a privilege to know and spend time with him in Cottage Country. We enjoyed listening to his stories and always learned something new.
Brian loved his family .He never missed an opportunity to tell you what was new with the children and grandchildren.
My earliest memory of Brian was when I was very young. My Aunt Carol worked for Brian at G.B.Murphy’s. Sometimes my Uncle Bud would take Janice and I into the store to visit. Brian would always be there and he loved to tease.
Brian will always be missed and thought of fondly.
Doug and I send our Condolences and many hugs to Lorraine and family.

I knew Brian as a young man, because I worked for G B Murphy in the mid fifties. He was such a dear young soul, everyone loved him. I remember the cases of Brian watches which were named after him. My sincere sympathy to his wife and family. Back then Carol Lintamin worked at the store and I’m guessing she and his wife were related. God Bless all of his family.

Brian was a ray of sunshine growing up on Lakeside Terrace. I would watch him running down the lawn to the Lake doing flips and summer Saults.
He was always very generous with his time to teach and take me water skiing.
He occasionally would take an after supper stroll over to visit with my parents who were very fond of him. He was just a great guy.
My sincere condolences to Lorraine and the rest of Brian's family.

Dear Lorraine and family
I am so sad to read that Brian passed away. Having been a neighbour in the very early years (and baby sitter) I can confirm what a wonderful, kind neighbour you all were. I'm so sorry for your loss. He will always be remembered. I think Brian was one of the first to accomplish barefoot water skiing. Sending my love.

Brian did his best to scare me as a passenger on his powerful seadoo several years ago. I warned him that if I go in the water, he is going in with me. The challenge was on. He used all the power that machine had, plus his skills at turning and making the machine hum almost dumped me. I hung on tightly to his life jacket. I did not fall off but my hands hurt from hanging on. I won! He smiled and said "next time". Much love for this wonderful man.
